So much going on this week, where do I start? Here is the Cliff Notes version: Jupiter makes its annual change of signs; Mercury begins a retrograde cycle; and Venus leaves Cancer for Leo. And did I mention the Sun in Cancer forms a creative grand trine in water with Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces? Each of these is so exciting and noteworthy; I could write the entire column on any of them! But no worries, I'm not going to get carried away. Don't you just love astrology? Something new to talk about and look forward to everyday!
Jupiter's move is really the biggest story in the headlines. After all, it only changes signs once a year; 12signs – 12 years. A really nice number don't you think? It's really hard not to like Jupiter the planet of wisdom, faith, exploration, and vision and ruler of adventurous Sagittarius. Authors Bloch and George describe Jupiter as symbolizing 'our search for meaning, truth and ethical values.' Can't you just hear the theme song from Star Trek playing in the background! It's related to ideas and concepts like faith, generosity, broad-mindedness, optimism, hope, benevolence, growth, foreign travel, belief systems, religion, philosophy and the ever ubiquitous idea of 'expansion'.
When you think of Jupiter you can simply ask yourself 'how and where do I want to expand and improve my life?' While Jupiter in Gemini was obsessed with ideas, new information and making connections, Cancer has higher and deeper expectations for relationships; it's called commitment. I can't help but think about 'friends' and 'fans' on Facebook. Now I'm not knocking it; FB is fabulous for disseminating information and making connections. Jupiter in Gemini loves the social media. But I have a gut feeling Jupiter in Cancer would laugh out loud at the idea of 'friends' on FB. Protective and maternal Cancer wants the real thing with commitment and face-to-face and heart-to-heart connections. Jupiter in Cancer will demand we thoroughly consider what it means to be family and community. It will ask us to focus on the 'greater good' as well as the well-being of our own personal families and groups.
Jupiter in Cancer is a big idea that deserves more attention – so in the coming weeks we'll talk more about its meaning and gifts. This week on 12Radio.com, Mark Husson will join me on Simpletales and we'll start exploring all the nooks and crannies! Please join us on Tuesday at 11am Pacific – 2 Eastern for the official kickoff of Jupiter in Cancer. You can bet we'll also squeeze in a little sage advice for maximizing the power of Mercury Retrograde which starts on Wednesday and maybe even a little nod to Venus as she lights up the stage in Leo.
Moon Void of Course 7:24 pm (PDT) – 12:26 am Tuesday morning
The Moon is in structured Capricorn today calling us to responsibility and maturity. 'No fun', you say? Well maybe so, but taking care of duties and following through on commitments carry their own reward and sense of satisfaction. The energy of the Full Moon in pragmatic Capricorn yesterday has lingering effects. Like echoes the Moon opposes both Mercury and Venus in Cancer. Listen to your feelings, even your fears and try to dig deeper to get at their true source. Be willing to express yourself with honesty and integrity but remember, you don't need external approval to feel ok about yourself. Delight in your thoughts and feelings and own them.
And…that being said, it's also a good day to mentor others and to show appreciation for the teachers and guides in your life. It's a two way street – you learn from others and in turn share your wisdom and light.
Daily Muse: He who chooses the beginning of the road chooses the place it leads to. It is the means that determines the end. (Harry Emerson Fosdick)
Although the cosmic dance is rich with planets in sensitive and emotional water (Sun, Mercury and Venus in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio, and Neptune and Chiron in Pisces) we get a chance to escape into our rational minds today – sort of a brainy break from all this emotion as the Moon heads for mental Aquarius. Although this sign is known for its ability to be emotionally objective, it's also famous for social awareness and a strong desire for friendship. Aquarius loves a meeting of the minds. Today we get to hang out with friends – those people we CHOOSE to have in our lives. Make sure you make some time to be with the people you like and respect; exchange some ideas and support each other.
Tonight, Jupiter, the planet of wisdom, faith and optimism makes its annual move leaving airy Gemini for the much more introspective sign of Cancer. Although it may take some time to 'get its feet wet', it's already in good company with the Sun and two other planets in Cancer. With this change, we too are making a move toward a year of more self-reflection and healing. Family, home, and the need to give and receive emotional warmth and security will be the issues we contemplate and develop this year.
Daily Muse: The most wasted for all days is one without laughter. (e.e. cummings – Libra Sun, Jupiter in Cancer.)
Today on Simpletales: I'm taking my own advice and spending the hour with a friend I love, admire and respect. Astrologer, Mark Husson joins me for a look at the Jupiter in Cancer cycle – Woo Hoo! Please join us at 11am Pacific – 2 Eastern on 12Radio.com.
WEDNESDAY JUNE 26 MOON in AQUARIUS
Moon Void of Course 6:08 am (PDT) – 1:32 am (Thursday morning)
Mercury stations retrograde 6:08 am (PDT)
The action starts very early today with some very potent planetary actions with far reaching effects. The first is the Sun's alliance with disciplined Saturn which will be followed later today by the Sun's trine to Neptune. On June 11th Saturn the planet of manifestation and Neptune the dreamer made a magical alliance. Magical because it united Saturn's discipline and ability to organize with Neptune's penchant for weaving dreams and seeing beyond boundaries.
Today it gets personal. We have the opportunity to lasso this energy and apply it to our own lives as the Sun in Cancer provides the third leg of this grand trine in the imaginative water signs. It's rare when we get to combine the energies of these two outer planets and maximize their strengths for our personal plans. This is where the rubber meets the road. How often do we grumble the dreamers and artists are not disciplined enough to bring their visions to fruition, or that the business person has no imagination or heart? Today we bring them together in ourselves. Imagine something new and wonderful for yourself, set your priorities and go for it.
Also in early morning, Mercury the messenger planet – the planet of thinking and communication looks over his shoulder and turns retrograde. Retrograding Mercury is always contemplative as it reviews the past and seeks for greater understanding of what has passed before. In Cancer you might see it as even more retrospective. It's far from mental and analytical; it's blending emotion with mind for even greater wisdom. This is likely to be a very 'quiet' and private Mercury retrograde, although I wouldn't rule out a few shouting matches, especially with loved ones as we sort out some emotional regrets and issues.
Daily Muse: True silence is the rest of the mind; it is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment. (William Penn)
THURSDAY JUNE 27
MOON in AQUARIUS / PISCES
Moon enters Pisces 1:32 am (PDT)
Venus enters Leo 10:03 am (PDT)
Emotional sensitivity is amped up a notch when the Moon enters psychic Pisces shortly after midnight. But the cosmic scales will make another adjustment with a dash of fire as Venus leaves Cancer and enters self-confident Leo in mid-morning. Venus in Leo, how much do you love me? Let me count the ways! Venus in Leo is royalty and expects to be treated like it. While Venus is in this dramatic, extroverted and self-expressive sign, don't tell your partner how much you love them, demonstrate it. And if you are smart, you'll do it in big bold ways. Admire their hair, their clothes, and their sense of style. Buy them something bright and shiny – and expensive – if you can afford it. Now I know we don't all have Venus in Leo, but while Venus is here we all have a touch of the proud lion within and will fare better in relationships if we remember lions need to bask in the limelight even if it's just a small pool.
Lunar aspects are soft and gentle today. We can look forward to a touch of imagination as the Moon merges with Neptune in mid-morning, a feeling of alignment with a productive connection to the Sun mid-day and increased depth and sincerity of emotion as the Moon aligns with Pluto late tonight.
Daily Muse: How to keep the Leo you love…treat them like a diva, no matter what their gender is. (Mark Husson, Lovescopes – What Astrology Knows about You and the Ones You Love)
FRIDAY JUNE 28 MOON IN PISCES
Moon Void of Course 5:16 pm (PDT) – 6:06 am Saturday morning
Patience is our ally today with a Moon in imaginative but often un-focused Pisces and a frustrating connection between Mars the planet of action and systematic and controlling Saturn. This energy warns us to take a step back, and not be in such a hurry. If you have to push hard to make something happen, there is a good chance you are going against the flow. Unless the situation is truly urgent, we will be better off waiting and re-assessing a decision or action. Don't rush into anything today. Would it be so unreasonable to distract yourself with a little play time? This may seem particularly inappropriate if you are intent on making something happen, but the action will be better timed on another day. And by the way, that day is may not be tomorrow either!
Daily Muse: It's easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself. (Johann Sebastian Bach)
SATURDAY JUNE 29 MOON in PISCES/ ARIES
Moon enters Aries 6:06 am (PDT)
The Moon enters rambunctious Aries this morning and we are prompted to take action – any action. The Aries Moon can go charging off without a real plan or direction especially as it squares excessive Jupiter in early morning. Coordinated efforts with others toward joint goals will be more successful today than individual exertions aimed at pleasing only oneself. Look for a cause bigger than yourself.
There is a touch of sweetness and satisfaction in mid-morning when the Aries Moon aligns with Venus in Leo. Fire likes fire and it's possible to get a nice warm glow going.
Late tonight there is a bit of emotional friction as the Moon in individual and headstrong Aries conflicts with the Sun in family-oriented Cancer. We need to take a look at how individual goals do, or do not support the relationships and commitments we have with others, especially family members.
Daily Muse: An idealist believes the short run doesn't count. A cynic believes the long run doesn't matter. A realist believes what is done or left undone in the short run determines the long run. (Sydney J. Harris)
Yikes! The Moon in Aries opposes Pluto an hour after midnight. Many of us will probably be asleep but this emotionally charged connection can be cathartic to those conscious enough to process its energy. Around sunrise, the Moon joins Uranus – a little emotional bolt of lightning to jump start our day. This is a highly intuitive joining but can wreak a little havoc on sensitive nervous systems with its extremely electrical impulse. The rest of the day is distinctly quiet – well I guess that all depends on what you decided to do with all that spontaneity this morning!
The Moon makes a couple of late night connections, the first to Mars which could provide a burst of energy at the tail end of the evening. This is useful for those twentysomethings who have a fondness for starting the evening's activities after many of the rest of us have gone to bed. But even if you are not up for clubbing, you may feel like catching the late show or participating in a spirited conversation. This is likely if you are up late, as the Moon will square retrograding Mercury in Cancer stimulating minds and tongues. Note to self – careful with the late night banter on Facebook!
Daily Muse: Somehow we know deep within our souls the direction we are to take, but very often that buffoon which we call the ego makes such a fuss that we cannot hear the inner voice. (Marie-Louise von Franz)
Asteroid Report Sale
OMG- for an entire year, Jupiter will enter Cancer! C.A. Brooks has invited me to talk about it on Simpletales - Tuesday 11am Pacific on 12radio.com!
There's been a lot of excitement about our expectations of privacy lately. People are upset that they're being electronically surveilled, or at least are subject to the potential of being watched at almost any given moment in their electronic lives.
There's been a lot of finger pointing, both sides anxious to prove that the other started it all. The truth is, it doesn't matter who started it, or even when it started. The key is, we're living in a new world and we need to adjust to it.
How is it possible that we didn't anticipate this? We should have known that as soon as the technology existed to watch everybody and everything, that it would happen. Who were we kidding? It's in the very nature of government, no matter how enlightened it may be, to keep an eye on people. It's what they do, for better or worse.
Okay. It's a new world. So what?
After 9/11, I expected that everything I said or did electronically was being watched. I don't think that was an unrealistic expectation, and I can see now that I probably wasn't too wrong. It doesn't mean that my information was actually being eavesdropped upon, or even flagged, but it does mean that the capability was there. Although I have nothing to hide, I've conducted myself accordingly, and not because of the government.
I know many individuals who haven't been cautious and have paid the price. To be clear, I'm not referring to government scrutiny in these cases. I'm strictly alluding to information that people have been eager to volunteer on their Facebook pages, blogs, or any one of a thousand other ways to make your mind known.
I applaud freedom of speech and I love it when people express themselves, but we all need to be conscious of the fact that the paradigm has shifted.
A fellow complained to me that he recently applied for a job that he didn't get. He'd been through two grueling interviews and both times it had gone extremely well. The interviewer told him that there was one more formality to take care of, and then to be ready to work. A week later, he received a curt call telling him he hadn't gotten the job. No reason was given.
I thought I'd take a look at this fellow's Facebook page to see if he'd changed his profile picture, and boy was I flabbergasted when I saw that he hadn't. The picture was of him glaring at the camera and giving it the one finger salute. Too bad he wasn't trying for a job on Wall Street.
Another person I know, recently went to meet future in-laws. To say it didn't go well is an understatement. Snide comments were made about the character of this person, so much so that it it led to an ugly confrontation. It was then revealed that the matriarch of the family had conducted a quick Google search for the future spouse's name. This revealed a "hidden" blog written by the person and not so hidden, in which sexual exploits, drug and alcohol use and, last but certainly not least, vehement disdain for the fiancee's family were detailed. The future in-laws were not amused.
We have to be careful. We expect politicians and sports celebrities to send pictures of their genitalia through the electronic ether every day, but we can't afford such carelessness. They often bounce back unscathed and ready for another round of "Meat the Press," but we don't have their publicity machines.
Besides, it isn't who we are, is it?
We strive for consciousness at all times. The time has come to be aware of what you say and do, especially in front of an electronic gadget. Actually, it's always been the right time, energetically. Metaphysics teaches us that every one of our thoughts, words and actions matter and create our reality, as well as influencing the reality of others.
If you put anger on the Internet, that's what you'll get back. If you tell tales of sexual excesses or proclaim your prowess at driving while gawking at pictures of anatomy sent by someone via email, it'll come back to haunt you. Even if you feel you're expressing yourself without prying eyes judging you, think twice.
Trust me, the people who research us know exactly what they're doing and how to use the information. I've seen people lose jobs, relationships, scholarships, respect, and more through words and pictures that they volunteered for others to read.
I'd never suggest self censorship, only awareness. I'm rabid about The First Amendment, but I'm equally as adamant about understanding the responsibility inherent within it.
Every thought, word and action has impact on the world, whether we know it or not. It doesn't matter whether or not we acknowledge this fact; the Universe does that for us.
Rather than point fingers and worry about our lack of privacy, we should be grateful that the truth of this intrusion has been revealed. Now we know the rules and have to decide how we're going to deal with it on a personal level.
As for me, I won't change a thing. If anyone has wasted their time peering into my electronic world, there's probably been a lot of head scratching and even a headache or two.
Here's something I hope they read, heed and spread. To all of you, I wish peace, love and happiness.
Program Note: Out of Mo's Mind, Wednesday at 9 AM, Pacific Time on 12Radio.com. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages! In the center ring, live and without rehearsal, I'll daringly make predictions for the upcoming week for EACH sign of the zodiac, including roaring Leos, all without a whip!! Then, in a death defying lack of common sense and without a net or any sense of purpose, I'll babble on about something that catches my fancy, all while mentally standing on a galloping, white stallion! Then, a tiny car will drive up and a hundred clowns will tumble out of it, all balding, bearded and with gaps between their front teeth. No, wait, that's something else. Talk to you Wednesday!
I read auras, and I see everyone's energy body projecting out into the world what is going on inside. So I ask you, what are you projecting? Did you know that your energy and the thoughts and words you use project out onto your world, impacting everything around you? Well it's true; your energy body has an impact on all of the energy bodies around you, creating a domino effect. Here is an example of how this works. Say you're having a great day, all feels right with the world. Then you walk into a store and are waited on by a clerk who is projecting anxiety. Unknowingly you pick up on their projection and walk out of the store feeling anxious for no particular reason. At this point you have a choice. You can take on the anxiety as your own and let it impact your whole day. If you do this then you are projecting anxiety and those around you may pick it up as well. At the end of your day you may have noticed that everyone around you seems anxious. What a coincidence! Ok, on to your other choice. You can acknowledge that you feel anxious and then ask yourself, is this mine? If the answer is no then you can recognize the anxiety for what it is, the signature of someone else's energy and let it go. You go about your day in a happy go lucky mood and note at the end of your day that those around you seem particularly happy. What a coincidence!
Our energy bodies are so powerful! Most of the time we are completely unaware of what we are projecting, but we can actually control our energy if we choose. You can start by simply asking yourself "What am I projecting?" If you don't like the answer then change the energetic channel! Intentionally become more aware of your energy projections and identify what is yours and what belongs to someone else. We have a choice about how we react to all kinds if things, but often do not take the wheel and intentionally choose.
Every morning ask yourself, what do I want to project today? Ask yourself what color your projection should be, what qualities would you like your energy to have? One you have arranged your projection then share it with those around you. Make note of how others seem to sync up with your projection and how exponentially you can impact the world simply by choosing to project positive and loving energy throughout your day.
