The Sun enters the chatty versatile and very mental sign of Gemini on Monday afternoon. It's important to get this in early. If you will allow me a little latitude here, I'm going to start off with a bit of a rant – I promise by the end I'll pull it together in a tidy, if not sweet conclusion. The Gemini twins will appreciate the diversion.
A recent trend sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard to me and I find it hard, if not impossible to jump aboard. It's the use of the phrase, 'It's all good.' Have you noticed how it usually follows news or information that most sane people would NOT find particularly good or welcome? You don't hear someone say 'I'm in love with my perfect partner and just landed the most unbelievable job! It's all good!' Most of the time it's something more like, 'my boss just put me on 30 days of probation and the dog needs a $4,000 surgery, but it's all good!' Right?
I'm left in a dizzy fog of wondering why we must follow-up unsettling or challenging information with the affirmation 'it's all good' when my mind is screaming, 'this probably sucks!' Is it because we are in denial? Maybe it's because we feel like we have failed in some way, especially if we are not able to immediately find the rainbow in the thunderstorm?
There probably are a thousand reasons and motivations, but this is the one I prefer. When we chant 'it's all good,' we are ultimately affirming that we don't know the whole story. This piece of the puzzle, on its own, may be a challenge to understand and deal with. But we accept this situation, person and part of the story as an invaluable contribution that will soon reveal its perfect lesson, message and place in our lives. 'It's all good' affirms our belief in a larger and loving backdrop to our story. Seen from a higher perspective even the most unsettling twists and turns may reveal exotic and beautiful patterns. At least this is my story and I'm sticking to it.
But that being said, it's ok to temporarily be dazed and confused, even daunted by the path before us. In fact, honoring our authentic feelings can lead more quickly to clear thinking and creative solutions. After all, how can you solve a dilemma if you are not willing to admit you are in the midst of one?
May 2013 has been, and continues to be, filled with interesting astrological events including two this week. On Monday evening, rebellious Uranus in fiery Aries makes a perfect square to transforming Pluto in organized Capricorn. This is the 3rd in a series of 7 perfect squares between these two astrological heavy-weights between 2012 and 2015. (There was one on June 24th of 2012 and another on September 19th) Do these dates hold any significance for you?
Uranus is waking us up and calling us to take a leap of faith. Pluto is willing and able to break down existing structures to accommodate new forms, patterns and plans. Squares are equivalent to CHANGE. This Uranus Pluto square occurs at 11 Aries and 11 Capricorn. Check your charts – do you have any planets or a house cusp near there? How about at 11 Cancer or Libra – you are likely to feel the earth shift too!
On Friday, when the Sun in Gemini comes into a perfect opposition with the Moon at 4 degrees of Sagittarius there is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse. This is the 3rd eclipse in a row! Eclipses are famous for dropping new information in our laps. Lunar Eclipses in particular often spotlight where we need to bring things to a conclusion and move on.
Will these astrological events be associated with abrupt or unexpected changes in our lives? Maybe. Will it be scary? Maybe. More likely it's exciting, exhilarating, and ultimately fabulous! This week expect a few surprises; be open to new awareness; and don't turn down a mind-blowing insight. If at first it feels overwhelming, even disappointing, admit it! Then say to yourself 'it's all good'. (I promise to keep an open mind and drop the judgment!)
Moon Void of Course 9:48 am (PDT) – 10:07 am
Sun enters Gemini 2:10 pm (PDT)
To quote Betty Davis, 'Fasten your seatbelt; it's going to be a bumpy night.' The Moon leaves analytical Virgo for balanced Libra; however, in this case, we may retain a bit of Virgo's propensity for being critical and combine it with Libra's need for fairness. This is not exactly a prescription for peace and harmony that we expect under a Libra Moon. It's understandable though when we remember that underneath the sweet charm of Libra is also a drive for justice. The picture is complicated by a discordant connection between Mercury the planet of communication and obstinate Pluto who's not in the mood for compromise. We are also moving toward a jarring exact square between radical Uranus and renewing Pluto which requires just that – compromise!
The Sun's entry into versatile and adaptable Gemini is a godsend providing the touch of flexibility and objectivity we will need to navigate these turbulent waters. The cosmos is electric and jumpy today and people are likely to feel 'wired', excited, cranky and ready to argue. If you love a good debate, enjoy yourself. If not, have a plan to walk away or disentangle yourself from those who do. This energy is actually excellent for advocacy and speaking up for causes or for the rights of those who have little or no voice. A productive connection between Mercury and Uranus in late evening gets brains moving in unusual and creative ways.

TUESDAY MAY 21 MOON in LIBRA
The wind is certainly blowing from a different direction today! Don't be fooled, the Uranus Pluto square can have a long-term effect and can be far from subtle. However, we are also still under the influence of Mercury's connection to unconventional Uranus last night and out-of-the-box thinking is likely to result in creative problem solving and persuasive communication. Overall, the edginess of yesterday is mostly gone especially after we get past a pair of jittery lunar connections to Pluto and Uranus in early morning. These will be followed by a pair of equally positive lunar alignments with Mercury and Venus both in adaptable Gemini. These charmers can lighten the mood with a touch of sweetness and a sense of being on track.
Daily Muse: Love is saying 'I feel differently,' instead of 'You're wrong.' (George Moore)

WEDNESDAY MAY 22 MOON in LIBRA / SCORPIO
Moon Void of Course 12:35 am (PDT) – 1:55 pm
Hump day is perfectly suited for introspection and exploration of the unknown territory of the psyche as the Moon heads for complex Scorpio in early afternoon. This is a good day to catch your breath, take stock and think about recent events or emerging sensations and feelings. This is also a good day to pursue clarity through therapy or counseling. People are likely to be quiet, less forthcoming and more thoughtful than usual. Don't go poking into someone's business unless invited. Sometimes we just need a little space to reflect and gain a greater perspective. Today we do that alone, or with a trusted friend or confidant. If you have been feeling anxious, worried or overwhelmed, take some time today to mentally sort some things out.
Daily Muse: It isn't until you come to a spiritual understanding of who you are - not necessarily a religious feeling, but deep down, the spirit within - that you can begin to take control. (Oprah Winfrey)
THURSDAY MAY 23
Remember the old adage 'don't take yourself too A feeling of quiet introspection spills over into Thursday as the Moon silently peruses the depths of Scorpio with hardly a ripple on the surface. A touch of seriousness may influence our dreams as the Moon slides by Saturn shortly after midnight. By day break the Moon aligns with Pluto deepening the sense of needing to make important and possibly big changes in our lives. This is a fairly quick moving and transient connection but may trigger conviction and even action if the foundation for change and renewal is already in place.
Daily Muse: I dip my pen into the blackest ink, because I am not afraid of falling into my inkpot. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
FRIDAY MAY 24 LUNAR ECLIPSE in SAGITTARIUS
Moon Void of Course 6:55 am (PDT) – 2:49 pm
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 4 Sagittarius 9:25 pm (PDT)
We emerge from our self-assigned reverie with new hope as the Moon takes flight in optimistic Sagittarius in mid-afternoon. The introspection of the last several days has likely paid off in greater understanding and self-awareness. We can share our insights in gentle ways and to an interested audience with a Mercury connection to Venus in late afternoon. This sets a tender stage for evening meals and activities.
The evening sky is lit by the brilliance of a Full Moon in lucky and expansive Sagittarius. Its intensity is briefly diminished as the earth passes between the Sun and Moon creating a Lunar Eclipse. Part of its message is to be ready to trust your process and take a leap of faith. Look for 4 degrees of Sagittarius in your natal astrology chart. This is where you can expect diminished light to lead to greater self-awareness and fabulous new beginnings!
Daily Muse: The most damaging phrase in the language is: 'It's always been done that way. (Grace Hopper)
SATURDAY MAY 25 MOON in SAGITTARIUS
Saturday presents several 'moment of truth' opportunities. You know 'where the rubber meets the road', where we have to face facts and agree to release those fairy tales we've been telling ourselves. This is a day for no bull. (No offense to Taurus intended!) Mars the planet of motivation gets into a squeaky scrape with Pluto and thinking Mercury can't quite talk himself out of a confrontation with Saturn. Everybody go to your corners and come out with integrity! This can be a productive day for those willing to lay down their defenses and apply their energy and focus to where it is really needed and to those projects with the most realistic promise of success.
Daily Muse: You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. (Winston Churchill)
SUNDAY MAY 26 MOON in SAGITTARIUS / CAPRICORN
Moon Void of Course 3:22 am (PDT) – 2:28 pm
Escapism, recklessness, avoidance or creative genius might all be apt predictions of today's energy. The Moon is drifting void of course in optimistic and unbounded Sagittarius until mid-afternoon. Meanwhile the Sun in Gemini squares nebulous Neptune in Pisces – this is where the escape or alternate genius lies. Both Gemini and Pisces are dual, mutable signs – they have two alternating sides and can change at a moment's notice. It may be hard to stick to a plan or keep solid boundaries under such conditions but the imagination of Neptune can provide creative outlets and new personal perspectives.
We get little to no help from motivational Mars who is occupied with a futile feud with eccentric Uranus – more potential for recklessness or brilliance! Venus is also locked into a battle of wills with stubborn Saturn maybe creating a temporary cash-flow problem or taking a swipe at our self esteem. Saturn would claim he is providing a bit of 'reality testing' and maybe he is.
The day feels more under control as the Moon enters stable and efficient Capricorn in mid-afternoon. This grounding influence brings us back to our senses. Capricorn has an innate respect for the wisdom of experience and age. This evening will be well-spent in the company of older or wiser individuals. If you have grandparents, older relatives or friends, even a mentor, give them a call and tell them how much you appreciate them. (Ok if you must text or e-mail, that's good too!) A momentary silent acknowledgement to someone living or passed who has guided your footsteps will act as a powerful reminder of your own value as a student and teacher.
Daily Muse: For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. (Audrey Hepburn - when asked about her beauty secrets)

One day, when I was in college, I got a pebble in my shoe. I was late for class and didn't feel like stopping, untying my saddle oxford, emptying it out, putting it back on and then retying it.
I began to limp. The longer I limped, the more I compensated my stride and my knee began to ache. The more my knee ached, the more my back hurt. Eventually, I was all hunched over in pain, my shoulders and neck cramped and a doozy of a headache on top of it.
That afternoon, hours after I'd finally shaken the pebble in my shoe, I was still in pain. I limped for about 3 days due to the divot the pebble left in my foot, as well as pain in my ankle, knee and back. In case you hadn't noticed, I can be a total dolt.
Pain is funny. We'll do almost anything to avoid it, and yet, we can hang onto it for decades, long after the source of that pain has been forgotten.
Unlike shaking the pebble out of a shoe, there are times when the stresses in our life can't be easily dismissed or dealt with. We often have no choice but to endure them as best as possible.
Recently, a situation of immense stress was suddenly alleviated. You'd think that once the stress was gone, the symptoms that accompanied that stress would also be history. But like my long endured pebble, the situation has had me limping for so long that a myriad of other symptoms have manifested.
Even though the source is gone, I still find myself reacting as if it's still there.
Imagine, if you will, living next door to a neighbor who blows an air-horn every time he sees you. You may not see him, but he sees you and every time he does, he blows that horn, making you jump. Eventually, you're going to tense up every time you're outside, even if the blower isn't around. It's kind of like that.
The point is that often times we go through life holding on to stresses, or fears, for years, even thought they aren't real or valid anymore. Using my example, I still head to my garage and tense up for the horn, but it doesn't come, and won't. Yet, it's in my system and even though I know it intellectually and am tired of its influence, it takes time to get over. Luckily I'm patient.
It's all about consciousness and trying to discover why we feel the way we do about certain aspects of our lives. For example, if you dread going home for the holidays and being around family, ask yourself why. Is it based on a past pebble? Can it be shaken out of your shoe now?
I continually check to see if there's something relevant that's eating at me, or if it's a source so far gone that it makes no sense to be affected anymore. Sometimes I discover that I've made a Mount Everest out of the molehill. I'm pretty good at that, but I'm usually as good about revealing the source and negating it before it has a chance to become a habitual pain in the rear.
There's a wonderful, freeing sense of calm that comes to us when we discover that the bogie that's been bothering us for years is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Like a bad dream, it affects us but fades quickly.
This is the type of clarity I seek, that which helps me to discover why I feel what I do and once known, getting hold of it before it gets hold of me.
Think about your stresses. Ask yourself if you're expecting an air-horn to shock your love-life, work place, home, or any other arena in which you dwell. Take stock of the tensions you harbor and reflect if they're real and sensical, or spoiled leftovers from a past feast of annoyance or pain.
As a professional advisor of over forty years, I've seen this energy capsize more than one love boat. I've seen it hinder careers and and create monuments to misery. Although none of this is necessary, our emotional hearts don't always know the difference between pain from today or from 40 years ago. It's all the same. That's why you have to be patient, introspective and loving with yourself. This is something you can do to help you change your life for the better, and it's a lot easier than you think.
Journaling, as well as talking through your thoughts will help. The main point is to stay strong, calm and give yourself the time you need to discover the source of stress. Once you've shaken that pebble out, you'll be surprised at how many other aches and pains begin to fade and, once again, you'll be walking in full stride. This, in turn, will make you happier and that's the aim of the game of life, to walk tall and be happy.
Until next week, keep shaking those pebbles out of your shoes.
Program Note: Out of Mo's Mind will focus on something. Last week, the show was about patience. I'm patient right now, even though I don't have a topic for the show yet, and I'm not nervous about it at all. Doctors have patients, but that's a different story and how an elephant got in my pajamas, I'll never know. Wednesday at 9 AM Pacific, 12radio.com. LIVE!
Our energy bodies (auras) are amazing and intelligent! Did you know that your aura protects you from most low vibrating energy you come into contact with? Think of your aura like an energetic skin, protecting your delicate insides (Chakras) from harm and attack. When your aura is strong it acts as a barrier, and low vibrating energy, attachments, and dark entities are simply repelled away from you.
There are lots of things that can weaken your aura and allow in undesirable energies. The good news is most of these things are preventable and /or fixable. Think of your aura like a light bulb on a dimmer switch. When the dimmer is turned down your aura is weak and vulnerable. Lack of sleep, illness/surgery, and drug and alcohol use, are some of the causes of a weak aura. Other causes are Root Chakra misalignment, negative thinking and giving more than you receive.
There are lots of ways to strengthen your aura, keeping your dimmer turned all the way up! The first is to be aware of what you are putting into your body. High vibrating foods and drinks help to keep your aura strong. This means whole, live foods and pure water. If you are not sure about something hold it in your hands and ask yourself, is this good for my aura? You will feel the answer in your heart.
Illness and surgery weaken your aura. It is important to have a session with and energy healer after a long illness or surgery in order to repair any damage to the energy body.
Getting plenty of sleep is good for your energy body, just like your physical body, it needs time to repair and regenerate.
Drugs and alcohol lower your vibration, turning your dimmer switch down. In my experience, addicts, particularly Meth, Cocaine and Heroine, have very weak auras and are susceptible to dark entity attachments. I see people in recovery in my practice and clear these attachments and strengthen their auras to help their recovery efforts to be more successful.
Having a strong Root Chakra is important for aura health. We draw energy from the Earth through our Root Chakras. This energy powers our physical and energy bodies. Daily grounding is important to keep this energy strong. A simple way to ground is to stand barefoot on the floor (or on the ground outside) and visualize red tree roots growing out of the bottoms of your feet, sending them deep into the Earth, anchoring like a tree to the Earth. After you send your roots down, draw energy up from the Earth into your Root Chakra. Feel this energy rise up through your energy body and out your Crown Chakra. This practice reconnects your Root Chakra every time you do it, ensuring a strong connection.
Negative thinking lowers your vibration and attracts the very things you are worried about. Keep a gratitude journal, writing down 10 things you are grateful for every day. This will get you in the habit of thinking positive thoughts.
It is so important to balance giving and receiving in your life. Be sure that you allow as much time, attention and support to be given to you as you give out. If you just give and give or take and take your energy body is out of balance, weakening your aura.
Aura strength fluctuates all the time and is easily corrected. Close your eyes and ask yourself "How bright is my light bulb?" Visualize it and decide if you need to turn up your dimmer. Easy ways to give your aura a boost are: take a sea salt bath, listen to your favorite upbeat song, meditate, hold a piece of Selenite, laugh, drink some water, go outside, make a gratitude list, talk to a friend, get a massage or an energy healing session.

This woman sees her reflection in the water. She holds a flower in her left hand. She is the siren of the meadow, both the meadow and the water bring her peace.
She is looking deeply into herself to find what she needs to communicate. In this case the water represents emotion. Look within, there may be something which stirs great emotion needing to be shared. Being around nature and water will help calm the mind. Fresh flowers may help with brightening the day even more as well!
Many of the interests I have in my eclectic world will be represented here. From the weekly Power Peek to the things and people that I love (not all of them, of course). May you find something you like. Mark
