Relatively it's a quiet week at the cosmic dance. Coming off the coattails of both a Lunar Eclipse in April and a New Moon Solar Eclipse May 9th, this week may seem quiet, but please remember. Eclipses tend to usher in unexpected changes that can take weeks, even months to manifest. We still have a lot of slow-moving, but steady Taurus energy; however, the curious and effervescent essence of Gemini is bursting at the seams of our consciousness.
Thinking Mercury, the messenger planet has been having sort of a 'rough go at it' lately as he plodded through deliberate Taurus. But on Wednesday he's flying high and free when he enters one of his home signs – curious, chatty, versatile and social Gemini. (He also rules analytical Virgo, but that is a way different story!) Woo Hoo! He's loving this energy. Mercury in Gemini is a dabbler and a sampler. You know like those restaurant specials that include just a bite of many different dishes. Ideas come fast and furious. Many things will catch our eye and our minds.
While Mercury cruises through this sign we are more interested in collecting than evaluating. This includes friends, lovers, hobbies, books, ideas and things that intrigue us. Mercury in Gemini is in his glory days when it comes to communication. Better check the maximum minutes and texts on your cell phone, do you have enough?
Mercury and the Gemini twins are also associated with pairs such as hands. Are you interested in taking up a job or hobby that requires manual dexterity? Now is the time. Maybe you have been considering learning massage, acupuncture, Reiki or some other energy work; time to get cracking!
During the last month or so I've been noticing a lot more chatter about what many call 'right livelihood'. Some is from people who are following their heart's dream and surfing the waves of excitement and adventure. Some is from people who hear their spirit calling but don't know how to make the leap. Although this can be a complex undertaking – transforming your life – it's also exhilarating. The Mercury in Gemini cycle is the perfect time to start doing your homework or to continue to research and gather information about the career, job or path you want to pursue. (For more talk on this topic, please join me on 12Radio.com on Tuesday when I welcome Vedic Astrologer Mo Abdelbaki to Simpletales where we will be talking 'right livelihood' - clues and timing based on astrology.)
Looking ahead on our astrological radar map, next Monday (May 20th) we are heading for some white water rapids as revolutionary Uranus squares off with Pluto (This is the 3rd time in a series of 7). More about this next week, but meanwhile we will get a smidgen of a taste this week on Monday when thinking Mercury at the far end of willful Taurus stumbles a bit too close to the action and again on Thursday when the Sun does the same thing. So heads up, stay alert this week and brush up on your flexibility.
With the Moon entering its emotional home sign of Cancer today the mood is destined to be sensitive and maybe even a bit sloppy. Heightened intuition is also a result especially with a magical little connection between Mars the planet of motivation and Neptune the planet of imagination.
Relationships and finances might be a matter of concern this afternoon as Venus – associated with all we hold dear – squares off with imprecise Neptune. It could be 'love at first sight' with the guy at the coffee shop or the irresistible leather Coach handbag you spotted in the shop window. Could be, but maybe not. When Venus mixes it up with Neptune, wishes and dreams can easily overtake conventional wisdom. But that being said…magic does happen. Tomorrow when Venus gets into a scrape with disciplined Saturn we may need to return the bag or wake up and smell the coffee about the new crush or about an existing relationship. Save your receipt and your heart by not going overboard. But also be aware fears, especially about love and money, can seem to take on a life of their own; don't let them.
Mercury the planet of thinking and communication is a bit sloppy himself making bumpy connections to both revolutionary Uranus and formidable Pluto. Our 'train of thought' just might jump the track especially this evening, so let your intuition guide you.

TUESDAY MAY 14 MOON in CANCER
Venus is feeling flirty and carefree in versatile Gemini so is not going to be very appreciative of negative or restrictive feedback from Saturn digging deep in Scorpio. But nevertheless, that just may be what we feel today when the two planets make an ill-fitting connection that will require an adjustment. In relationships of all kinds we need to accept responsibility for our feelings and actions. We may need to move in a slightly different direction or even change our expectations. That goes for both love and money. But remember, Saturn can be our ally as it encourages us to spend our time, money and resources on the people and things that really matter. We may struggle a bit with boundaries and rules today – our own. Where do we want them to be? What purpose do they serve? Are they acting as an accurate map pointing us in the direction of our goals? Ruining our fun? Serving as a strong foundation and jumping off platform?
Daily Muse: Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow. (Mary Anne Radmacher)
Today on Simpletales Vedic Astrologer Mo Abdelbaki joins me for a discussion of finding our right livelihood – you know the job and life that makes our hearts sing. I'm hearing a lot of sour notes lately so let's figure out how we can sweeten things up with practical information from the planets. Please come harmonize with us on 12Radio.com at 11am Pacific – 2 Eastern.
WEDNESDAY MAY 15 MOON in CANCER / LEO
Moon Void of Course 5:14 am (PDT) – 3:38 pm
Mercury enters Gemini 1:41 pm (PDT)
Thinking Mercury, the messenger planet is breathing free and easy today when he enters one of his home signs – clever, adaptable and light-hearted Gemini. It may take us a bit of time to get up to speed, but certainly not long. Thinking and communication flourishes when Mercury flies through airy and mental Gemini. This can be a very social and chatty time; but remember, Mercury in Gemini tends to make us want to talk, not necessarily listen! Adjust your expectations; this is a time to explore new ideas and relationships, travel, and connect with people. Dial the judgment meter down to zero and have a good time.
The Moon also makes a move this afternoon, into self-expressive Leo. This evening is perfectly suited for light-hearted and social activities that highlight good-natured fun.
Daily Muse: If everyone is thinking alike then somebody isn't thinking. (George S. Patton)
THURSDAY MAY 16
MOON in LEO
Remember the old adage 'don't take yourself too seriously'? Believe it! Today the Sun at the very end of solid and dependable Taurus makes two very uncomfortable connections – one with eccentric Uranus and one with transformative Pluto. The Sun represents our ego and sense of personal identity. These powerful outer planets are influential and are throwing their virtual weight around. The result? We can end up feeling somewhat threatened, or take a hit to our self-confidence. We may not be too sure of whether the smart move is standing our ground or giving in.
Self-discipline and conscientiousness are your tools and allies. Chaos and conflict can encourage deeper reflection and give rise to greater creativity. Don't go looking for problems, but when faced with challenges, see them as an opportunity to get clear on your strengths and to sharpen your skills.
Fortunately the Moon in self-confident Leo lends a hand. Not only does this energy speak to our desire for recognition, but it literally speaks through laughter and comic relief. The waxing Moon in Leo, far from being the drama queen, is instead the good natured jester who reminds us of the joy of self-expression and the fun in silliness. It may seem like today's energy is a contradiction, but seen from a higher perspective it's simply activities occurring in various rings in this circus we call life on planet earth.
Daily Muse: Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor to console him for what he is. (Sir Francis Bacon)
FRIDAY MAY 17 MOON in LEO
Moon Void of Course 9:34 pm (PDT) – 2:33 am Saturday morning
A lunar square to Mars first thing this morning might get things off to an angry or frustrating start. But take note, this energy is a precursor to the Moon's square to the Sun later this evening sending the lunar cycle into its second quarter. This energy is somewhat like a hurdle we must jump but running right up to it without a plan might cause a fall and skinned knees. Mars may be a planet of action, but it's patient and deliberate in earthy Taurus. The Moon in flashy Leo is inspiring and the bling is attractive, but Taurus needs a reasonable cost benefit analysis before risking anything of value. A facilitating connection between the Moon and Jupiter helps move things along, but in general, be patient today. We are probably better off taking emotional risks today rather than physical or economic ones.
Daily Muse: I believe that a simple and unassuming manner of life is best for everyone, best both for the body and the mind. (Albert Einstein)
SATURDAY MAY 18 MOON in LEO / VIRGO
Moon enters Virgo 2:33 am (PDT)
Mercury's distracting square to imaginative Neptune shortly after midnight (Pacific Time) is great for dreamtime but more than a bit disconcerting if you are working the nightshift in the Emergency Room. Imagination prevails while logic struggles. Help is on the way as the Moon quietly slips into analytical Virgo, happy to serve. However, the sometimes prim and proper Virgo may look askance at the kinky or quirky ideas being sparked by the innovative connection between Venus the planet of love and unconventional Uranus.
Even to the most adventurous and visionary among us, the energy might still be a tad challenging today as Venus makes a dissonant connection to Pluto and Mercury gets into a scrape with disciplinarian Saturn. Just keep thinking of adjustment, or maybe even dancing. I once heard the reason there are so few car crashes on the island of Bali (and trust me, the busy areas look and sound like a nightmare) is because they know how to dance. Now there is a thought for you. Stay on your toes, listen to the energy and keep moving And be ready for changing rhythms – that waltz may instantly give way to rock-n-roll.
This evening things are likely to feel a bit calmer and more orderly (the Moon in Virgo so loves order) with constructive lunar connections to both Saturn and Pluto.
Daily Muse: Be open-minded, but not so open-minded that your brains fall out. (Stephen A. Kallis, Jr.)
SUNDAY MAY 19 MOON in VIRGO
If you are exhausted from all that dancing and staying on your toes yesterday, no worries! Today is pretty quiet at the cosmic dance. Of course I'm not sure we should plan to sleep in. The Moon in Virgo probably has other plans like getting ready for that garage sale, planting the garden, or catching up on some personal paperwork. The Moon in Virgo can be a loner, but she is no slouch. Social activities are not discouraged today but they are best aimed at humanitarian causes or productive activity of some sort.
The energy picks up a bit this evening when the Moon gets excited by a square to expansive Jupiter and gets motivated by a connection to Mars.
Daily Muse: We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. (Charlie Chaplin)

On this day, dedicated to mothers, let's proclaim our duty to protect and honor everyone, but especially the women of our planet. Let's gather together and be united in our desire to make this world a better place through respect, tolerance and understanding.
The recently discovered crime in Cleveland, Ohio has impacted me, as I'm sure it has everyone. The insanity of the situation, the incredible arrogance of the criminal and heinousness of the crime stuns me.
It's long overdue for this nation to embrace women as equal partners on this journey. No matter what anyone says, there still isn't equality between men and women and it infuriates me. Strides have been made, but there's still a lot of ground to cover.
Why are we clinging to many of the more dogmatic entitlements of a patriarchal society? Some of this mind-set is rooted in archaic traditions that tenaciously cling to our culture, keeping us from evolving. Whether it's based on genuine belief, fear of change or losing control, all of it needs revisiting. Any culture that abides prejudice is living in denial.
We're horrified at the actions of a maniac who snatches children off the street and imprisons them, but how is this even a possibility in the Twenty-first Century? How have we created a society where such atrocities, and others, still take place?
I don't have an answer. I wish I did. I do have a suggestion that I know will help at least a little; be kind and pass that kindness along.
To all men, please respect women and never lose sight that our mothers, wives, daughters, aunts, in fact all women, give and have sacrificed more than we can begin to understand. They've carried and cared for our beloved children, fed them from their own bodies and done whatever was necessary to raise them, increasingly without a man in the picture. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 1 out of every 3 children in America is being raised without a father figure in the home.
To women, I ask that you respect yourselves and each other. You're stronger than you know and although I've had women tell me that they have full equality now, I've had many, many more show me that we're nowhere near that goal.
I've watched women deal with issues that men rarely have to encounter, such as revisiting child support, getting a home loan as a single person, starting a business, being respected by male coworkers, buying a car, being a firefighter or officer of the law, being in the service, getting time off from work, dating safely, walking down the street, and please feel free to add to this list as you see fit.
Don't stop pushing for change and never give up.
Leon Panetta reported that as many as 19,000 military sexual assaults occur each year. Another statistic says that 20% of women in the military are subject to some sort of sexual assault every year, compared to 1% of men. Yet, these women are putting their lives on the line every single day, just as their male counterparts do.
All of this boils down to respect, pure and simple.
Someone who abducts girls off of the street and imprisons them for years is obviously a sociopath, but he may also be the reflection of a deeper sickness in our culture.
For example, I had frequent occasions to be around men during the Mary Kay Letourneau situation. You may recall that she was the youngish teacher who had a sexual affair with a thirteen year old boy in her class. Many of the men, considered pillars of our society, gave a wink and grin when discussing this case. I'd respond with, "what if he were your son," or, "what if she were a lesbian and preyed on a girl instead?" They didn't like me much.
The point is that this way of thinking is a holdover from another time, one that needs to end now.
As a man, I wish I could speak for all of us and offer an apology to women for the insensitivity and callousness you face. As it is, I only can offer it to you from my own heart. I wish I could change our culture to be sure that another child won't be snatched and held by a man who feels entitled to do so. I pray that our daughters and granddaughters to come will be treated as equals and loved for who they are.
More than anything else, I wish you all, women and men alike, happiness. Only when we know in our hearts that we value others based on their merit and not on their gender, ethnicity or any of the other ridiculous divisions between us, only then can we be strong and healthy. After all, we're all connected. If we disrespect anyone, we disrespect all, including ourselves.
I'm sorry to rant and rave, but my heart is broken for those poor girls, and for all who've been victimized. Enough is enough.
To everyone, but especially to mothers, past, present and future, whether you've raised your own children or not, I wish you a Happy Mother's Day filled with love, respect and joy.
Program Note: Out of Mo's Mind will air on Wednesday, May 15th, Live. I'll give my predictions for the week and talk about whatever catches my attention. I hope you'll join me at 9 AM, Pacific on 12radio.com.
Sometimes it is very hard to tell what is true. I have noticed a trend in the media this week. Everyone seems to be accusing everyone else of lying. This isn't exactly new, but it seems to be intensified lately. Whenever a big event occurs somewhere in the world and the media covers it I feel my internal lie detector go off. I have a deception detector built in as part of my Psychic gifts. It comes in handy at times, but is not infallible. I usually know when I am being lied to, but I don't always know what the lie is about.
I find it interesting that all I have to do is turn on the news and my deception detector goes off like a fire alarm. So, I have 2 conflicting feelings about this. The first is that most of the stuff on the news doesn't matter and I should just turn it off. The second is that sometimes it is really important to know the truth about some things, and I need a way to be able to tell what is truth. So I have come up with a 2 step test to discern what is truth around me. I hope you find it useful!
The first step is to ask myself, "Does this situation actually apply to me?" There have been a couple of high profile murder cases in the news lately that people are screaming to the rooftops about. When I ask myself, does this murder trial have any relevance in my life; the answer is a resounding "No." Ok, so I stop there. If something doesn't apply to me, isn't really my business, or is just negative and unnecessary for me, then the truth test is over. I remind myself to move on to more important things. If the answer to this question is yes, then move on to the next step.
The second step is to activate your own deception detector, which is usually in your Heart Chakra. Oh yes, we all have one! Simply sit quietly for a few moments, and bring your attention to your Heart Chakra. Feel the energy there, it will feel like an ocean wave or a vibration. Once you feel it, ask this simple question. "Is this truth?" You will feel the answer in your heart. Go with your very first feeling. This is not a time for analysis and proof, this is all about how truth feels.
You can use this process of discernment on any issue you like. Just be sure to be honest with the first question. In this age of endless information we tend to forget that not everything is our business or our problem. This is not the time to take on the worlds issues. Use this discernment process in your own life to resolve your own questions. Everyone else can do the same for themselves.
This may sound funny coming from a Psychic, but I don't like eavesdropping on other people. I only do it when I have permission. I recommend you do the same. We have plenty of our own problems to resolve, who needs to worry about other people's stuff, too?

This woman may have a bug head but she juggles orange and green balls better than anyone west of the Mississippi, and possibly beyond that too.
