My father taught Veterinary Medicine and had a colleague who was allergic to animal hair and fur. This poor man suffered terribly every day of the year. He was constantly sneezing, coughing, itching, watering and carried three handkerchiefs at all times. It was painful to watch.
One day, when I was about ten years old, I asked my dad why, in light of his allergies, this man had chosen the profession he had and why he stuck with it. My father simply replied that the man loved his job. I then asked my dad if all the people he worked with loved their jobs. He replied that he didn't think so.
Dad added that if you're truly lucky, you get to love your job and make a living. He said that doing what you love is such a blessing, that many people suffer through discomfort or difficult circumstances in order to pursue what satisfies them the most.
I thought about this for a while, and then I named a couple of his co-workers and asked him if he thought they didn't love their jobs. I'll never forget the way he looked at me. He smiled and told me that I understood. That was all.
Years later, Dad turned down the chance to be a partner in a multimillion dollar vet practice. He dismissed it without a second thought. He was doing what he loved, teaching.
In high school, I worked in a fast food joint as a burger jockey. My manager hated his job. He was probably adequate at what he did, but the mood was dark and intense. He had no respect for us, nor we for him. Eventually, he left.
Many years later, I ran into him while dining at a casual restaurant. He recognized me and we chatted. He was the manager there, still hated his job and, quite sadly, his life.
Back at my burger joint, after the first manager left, a new one took over. It was a completely different experience. He was one of the best men I've ever met and became a friend and trusted mentor. He loved his job.
He'd been a fry cook in a diner, a cowboy on a Wyoming ranch, had driven big rigs and had finally landed on his boots as the manager of the burger joint where I slung grease. He was patient, competent and had a great sense of humor. More than that, he had a work ethic that was solid gold and a respect for both his job and for all those who did their work well.
He taught me that no job is beneath me. He taught me that there's honor in service to others and that life is meant to be spent with people, doing things you enjoy. His ethics were iron clad, as were my dad's, and I took their lessons to heart. No matter where I've gone in life, or what I've done to make ends meet (and I've had some weird gigs), I've always tried to enjoy the moment and the experience.
Not everyone is lucky enough to do what they love. That's the truth. However, even if you're not in an employment situation that fulfills you, life can be as wonderful as if you have the job of your dreams. The key is to put your heart and focus on those things that you do love, and to let everything else be improved by that energy.
For example, let's say you work in an office and don't like being there. Focus on something that you do like to do. It may be discussing Tarot with a group of people, or studying metaphysics in a local meetup. Maybe your thing is taking a class, throwing pots, cooking or painting. Regardless of what it is, there's something out there that can change the way you feel about your life.
Once you find something that you love, a passion flames within your heart, one that never leaves you.
You may drift from one interest or hobby to another, but the inner joy will always be there. I'll bet each of you has experienced that feeling at least once. Guess what? It's still there. All you have to do is reassert your insistence on living a life filled with interest and excitement and put your energies to something you love to do.
I'm a believer in a holographic model of life. Let me explain what I mean. If you break a holographic image into pieces, you'll see the entire image in every fragment. Likewise, every aspect of who we are is located in every other fragment of our lives, proving that it's fruitless to try to compartmentalize our world.
With this in mind, keep learning, keep experiencing and creating. Find the joy in your world and stubbornly insist on holding onto it. Follow your passions and don't let anyone take them away from you, no matter how hard they try. They don't have that right, or power.
Don't necessarily shun the grumpy. Share the joy you feel with everyone you meet, even those who don't appreciate it. Pass along your holographic love of life and never give up searching for more.
Most importantly, never, never let your dreams go, for they possess the power to give you anything you desire.
Until next week, I wish you peace and love.

I have been thinking a lot about how to let go of things that have happened in the past and how to release them and move forward. As many of you know my Dad passed away in March. His health took a very serious turn on Christmas Day and from then until he passed away I had many very difficult and painful experiences regarding his illness, Hospice care and death.
There were lots of good days and laughter, but there are a few events that were traumatic and difficult to move on from. For a while I have chosen to focus on the good times and just put up a wall around the painful ones. This does not seem to be working now and I have frequent, unwanted memories that intrude on my day. As a Social Worker I know that these are flashbacks from trauma, and should subside with time. As a Psychic I have been thinking about how to handle them energetically. Sometimes it is a strange dichotomy to be a Psychic and a Social Worker.
There are several things that have worked for me so far, and I want to share them with you. The first is to pull my energetic attachments to the experiences themselves. To do this you visualize an event you no longer want to be attached to and pull the energy cord that attaches you to the event. It is like unplugging an extension cord. Then ask your favorite angel to heal the cord. When it turns white simply pull the cord back into your energy body where it belongs. This helps with flashbacks because you remove the direct connection you have to the event. This way you won't re-experience the event like it is happening all over again.
The second thing I have done is to be a good steward of my thoughts. If I notice my thoughts falling back on old events I intentionally bring myself forward into the present. I think of it like a fast forward button for my brain. This takes practice, sometimes I don't realize where I am headed until I am knee deep in a memory, but the more I practice the easier it gets.
The last thing I have been doing is asking for help. I ask for energy work, I have lunch with friends, and I call on my divine support team. When people ask me how I am doing I am honest with them, clichés and platitudes just don't cut it anymore. I know that I can't get through this alone. Every day is better. Every day I learn a little more about myself and how to walk through this experience with grace. Some days are just tough and I have to allow myself to have a hard day, knowing that tomorrow will be better.
I know that we are stronger together, and I hope that sharing my experience is helpful to you. I feel your love and support on the radio and am pleased to share all that I can with you!
Blessings my friends,
